Who is JIBOIANA?

JIBOIANA is a French association that has been committed for years to several peoples of the Amazon (Huni Kuin, Puyanawa, Xakriaba, Xavante, Satéré-Mawé, Pataxó…).

Their mission: to protect the forest, support communities, preserve ancient cultures and defend human rights .

They operate on four major axes:

1. Economic & cultural support

• Promoting local crafts (weaving, jewelry, traditional medicines)
• Purchases at fair prices
• Sustainable income for families, especially women

2. Defense of human rights

• Support for Indigenous leaders in their political endeavors
• Actions against threatening laws (such as Bill 490)
• Linking with NGOs, UNESCO, the European Parliament…

3. Reforestation & food self-sufficiency

• Creation of nurseries
• More than 20,000 trees planted
• Construction of wells for drinking water
• Objective: to replant millions of trees

4. Education & Awareness

• Conferences in Europe: Paris, Brussels, COP, UNESCO
